Ingredients

Prepare the Pizza Dough

Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F and gather ingredients. In a small cup combine Italian seasoning, oregano, basil, ½ tsp garlic powder, onion powder, and sea salt. Set aside.

Step 2: In a large bowl mix sugar with warm water and sprinkle yeast on top. Stir with a fork and let sit 10 mins

Step 3: Sift the flour in a separate bowl. Time to get messy! Add a little bit of sifted flour at a time, the seasoning, and 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil. Using clean hands combine the ingredients. Continue adding more flour until dough starts to have a firmer consistency.

Step 4: Knead dough for 8 mins. Dough will be slightly stiff (if you need more flour than what was sifted add a spoonful at a time to avoid adding too much flour).

Form into a ball, and tuck the sides under.

Step 5: Cover dough and let rest for 30 mins on top of the stove that has been preheating.

Once the dough has been resting 30 mins turn off the oven and set another timer for 30 mins to continue resting the dough.

Step 6: Dough will be doubled in size. Lightly coat oven tray with cooking spray and set aside.

Step 7: Lightly oil a clean working surface with extra virgin olive oil.

Step 8: Roll out dough and stretch it until it loosely resembles a 12″ pie crust, rolling up the edges to form a crust.

Step 9: On a separate oven tray, liberally sprinkle cornmeal.

Pick up dough (carefully) and lay on top of cornmeal to cover the bottom of the crust. Then transfer to the cooking tray you previously sprayed with cooking oil. If it ripped during transport use your fingers to lightly mend the tears.

Step 4: Drizzle ½ tbsp extra virgin olive oil over the top of the pizza dough and use a pastry brush to cover the entire surface.

Step 4: Use a fork to poke holes all over stretched dough to keep it from bubbling up in the oven.

Let the prepared dough rest 15 mins while you preheat the oven to 425°F.

Bake the dough at 425°F for 10 mins. Take out of oven and set aside for 5 mins before adding sauce, toppings and cheese.

Assemble Pizza

Step 1: Melt 2 tbsp butter and add ½ tsp garlic powder. Set aside. Add the pizza sauce and spread it around using the back of a wooden spoon.

Step 2: Using a pastry brush, brush the crust with all of the garlic butter. You may need to do a layer and wait a few secs for it to absorb before adding the rest.

Step 3: Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, to taste.

Step 4: Add desired toppings

Step 5: Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, to taste.

Step 6: Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, to taste.

Bake

Bake at 425°F for 20 mins, until browned and bubbly.

Let rest 10 mins then cut to serve.
