Hi friends, I don’t know how many people follow my cooking blog but I wanted to give an update. Last week I sustained a calcaneus (heel) fracture and had to have emergency surgery. I am OK. My pain is managed quite well with Tylenol (thankfully I have a high pain tolerance!) and I have a wonderful support system. My friend Abbi even brought me dinners for the week that just pop right into the oven! I feel so loved ❤️.

I have a few recipes in my queue still so I will have a couple posts in the coming weeks but my posts will likely be reduced for a bit as I get used to moving around with only one leg. I have a scooter now and that has helped substantially but I need to elevate for the next week at least so my ability to work in the kitchen at the moment is nonexistent. The good news is this gives me time to work on some new recipes 😊.

I have already created a new recipe inspired by the pasties in Michigan’s upper peninsula. I was in the U.P. last week with my good friends (before I broke my heel) and we ate some delicious pasties before it happened so I just knew I had to create something of my own when I got home. I cannot wait to share it with you all in the future ❤️.

I will return as soon as I can!
